John
John has been part of the same day and transport industry since 1985, bringing decades of hands-on experience to the business. His professional ethos is simple: get the job done right, first time, every time. Having progressed through business development and key account management into operational leadership, John has developed a well-rounded understanding of how to deliver consistent operational excellence. Holding several Head of Department roles over the years, John has built a deep and practical knowledge of same day logistics—an area that remains his core passion, particularly within MBL Same Day. Outside of work, John is family-focused and enjoys coastal walks with his fiancée, Gabby, a key driving force behind the business.
Alex
Alex began his career in the transport sector with Yodel, quickly demonstrating strong drive and ambition. He went on to develop his experience at DHL before joining the MBL Group, where he built a solid operational foundation while managing an extensive driver network. At MBL, drivers are regarded as valued partners, reflecting their critical role in delivering consistent service. Following his progression to Diamond Logistics near Trafford Park, Alex continued to build on his success and now represents MBL Connect, leading face-to-face new business development. Proactive and opportunity-driven, he plays a key role in strengthening relationships with prospective customers. Outside of work, Alex values time with his fiancée Jade, their daughter, and working on their new home. He is also a keen supporter of Manchester United and enjoys gaming in his downtime.
Gabby
Gabby has built her career in customer-facing roles, developing a strong understanding of what drives customer needs and expectations. She began her journey in the transport sector within dedicated same day delivery, achieving significant success as a Business Development Manager before progressing into depot management. With a solid operational perspective and a strong grasp of financial performance, Gabby plays a key role in aligning customer requirements with efficient, well-managed logistics solutions. Outside of work, Gabby enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly with horses, as well as weekends away and family time—when she can persuade John, the Head of the business, to step away from work.
