Our Team
John – The leader of the pack
John has been around the same day and transport industry since 1985, yes, that
makes him close to 50, not that we like to mention it, much. John’s ethos is about
getting the job done, first time, every time. From starting in business development to
key account management then moving across to understand how to provide
operational excellence. Combine this with various Heads of Department roles, it has
made for a good melting pot of knowledge and experience. Same day and MBL
same day is his passion.
Aside from work, John is family orientated, loves a good walk by the coast with his
better half and Fiancee, Gabby (the ‘engine room’ of the business), oh and also, the
real ‘boss’.
Gabby – The engine room of the business…
Gabby has always been in customer facing roles from the very beginning - she
knows and understands what makes people ‘tick’. Gabby started her career within
transport working in dedicated same day as a business development manager with
many wins under her belt before moving into depot management. Gabby provides a
stable understanding operationally of what our customers and potential clients need.
Financially – a bit of a whizz!
Away form same day Gabby loves horses, the great outdoors, weekends away and
family time – a bit difficult when she’s engaged to John, Head of the business, who
apparently is always working….
Alex – what can we say...the joker of the Connect Pack!
Alex started his career in transport with Yodel, making ‘things happen’ from the get-
go! After a period, it was time to move on as his ideas and aspirations for development led him to DHL before heading to a role within the MBL family at an Amazon RDC. During his time in this role, Alex was able to learn the operational side of the business whilst managing the vast driver network. At MBL, we treat drivers just like customers – the job can’t be done, in the right way, without them. We were incredibly happy to say the least that Alex chose to make the move/secondment over to another arm of the MBL family, our Diamond Logistics site close to Trafford Park. Again, this wasn’t enough for the success hungry Alex. Our face to face effort in terms of daily new business comes from Alex, now for MBL Connect. If anyone can sniff out an opportunity to work with potential customers, he’s there!Away from same day, which isn’t often, Alex enjoys family time with his Fiancé Jade, Daughter Jade and building their new home together. Alex can also be found glued to the TV, either watching his beloved Manchester United or a bit gaming...yes, abit of a nerd also!
Jo-Jo (AKA The Little Lion)
The office cat – The Little Lion likes nothing more than sitting in the sun and chilling
– it’s lovely having a little furry creature knocking around the office, until she decides
to sit on your laptop! She’s still a very important part of the MBL team!
